where have you been all my life?!

So I woke up late this morning (well, late is obviously a relative term...) following a fabulous Amy Garland Band performance out at Whitewater Tavern (shout out to Meredith, Rachel, Ramon, Josh & Josh for trusting me and checking out this fine display of americana ~ holla!). Not only was Amy stunning as always, but the guys joined in with some of their Salty Dogs songs (I'll add links for both of these bands soon) making the evening complete.
So I wake up this morning, and I'm trying to get some cleaning out of the way, so I'm listening to the Old Crow Medicine Show fan radio on Launch Cast (preparing my happy feet for the Runaway Planet cd release party this evening ~ link at left). Somewhere between my morning coffee and shaking out the rugs, I heard some of the most joyous sounds my ears have ever partaken of. Running over to the computer to find the source of my delight, I discovered my new addiction: Flogging Molly (I'm sure I'll get some "you've never heard them?!" comments). Familiar with the name, I can say with quite certainty that I have never heard a song from Flogging Molly ~ if I had, I would own all of their cds. I visited their website, and will most likely be sporting a green t-shirt and a new car decal soon. I went back to Launch and soaked in the three video offerings there. This band is like listening to Social Distortion drunk in a Dublin Pub (that is, the band would be drunk)... it's as if they have injected a cocktail of Guiness and acid into their veins and it is pouring forth as some of the most energizing celtic music possible. I really should renew my subscription to Dirty Linen ~ I'm falling way behind...

That was a beautiful description of a band I will most definitely be checking out soon! Oh, and btw, I am open to suggestions on the MoYAs blog idea. I started to create one and then realized you have to REALLY create a name and address to get started. Don't want to steal anyones thunder or creative processes by doing this by myself. Holla! Let me know what you have in mind. It is a great idea!

Peace,
Rob <><

All I've got to say is...poor, poor Molly. Why does this band insist on flogging her? I must investigate.
