Work is busy today, so I don't have time to post much ~ but just in case you are one of the rare people who hasn't heard me harp about what a great album Switchfoot's the Beautiful Letdown cd is, I thought I would share some of the lyrics that have been rolling through my head today. It warms my heart that this album, which far surpasses their first three in quality and in spiritual depth, is also the greatest commercial success...
Dare You To Move
Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next
What happens next
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is hereTension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

Is that the song that one can find on the "A Walk to Remember" soundtrack? Good lyrics, btw!
It is the very same song from "A Walk To Remember", but the version on The Beautiful Letdown is revamped and in my opinion much better.
I choose to remain anonymous so that my viewing of the above mentioned movie does not become fodder for future ridicule.
funny that the anonymous comment was left 2 minutes after Ramon commented on my previous post. As Alice would say, curiouser and curiouser...
I wouldn't fault anyone for liking the movie (which I own), especially if they have read the book. The book ripped at my heart strings, and I was so excited to see them make it into a movie. Of course, as always, the movie changed many things. One of those being that rather than give him her mother's Bible, she gave him a book of poems and said "Don't worry, it's not a Bible!". Another being, she dies. In the book, you never see her die, and the narrator ends with something along the lines of "I never took my ring off. I never felt the need to. And by the way, I still believe in miracles." See? Miracle! He never felt the need to take his ring off because she lived and he was still married to her and she was still the love of his life. But I digress from my post (I think this comment became a post in itself)...
Doh!
Ramón
So, am I the overly verbose guy in the group now? Or always?
