what turning 34 looks like...

This morning, I ran an errand for my boss, returning her son’s tuxedo from a weekend prom.

As I was leaving the tuxedo shop, I paused to hold the door open for a man who was fumbling to get his tux out of the car.

He shut his car door, looked up to notice me holding the door, sighed gratefully and offered, “Thank you, young lady.”

I grinned.

He walked toward the door, garment bag draped over his right arm.

As he took the door from my control, he smiled and said “I appreciate you, miss.”

The silver highlights and strategically placed laugh lines are a bit more visible up close, I suppose.

Still, I appreciated the misappropriated “young lady.”

And, even after the compliment changed to “miss,” he had to take another glance.

Green is my signature color, after all…

Hilarious. I got carded the other day when purchasing wine. :-) I love that.
