no one likes a dancing blob...

Eric informed me that I had failed to respond to the 1-2-3 meme he tagged me for on his blog. I informed him that I had completely missed the tag, and that he should know that I have also yet to respond to a tag from Brook. I was always more of a monkey-bars kinda gal... tag just wears me out. So, since Eric's is short, I will oblige (Brook, I apologize, will have to wait a little while for his response).

Here are the rules:

Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating!
Find Page 123.
Find the first 5 sentences.
Post the next 3 sentences.
Tag 5 people.

The rack next to my bed is holding a journal, two sudoku books and Madeline L'Engle's A Circle of Quiet. The sudoku books actually do have at least 123 pages, but aren't exactly broken down into sentences. I'm not going to type anything out of my journal... though, wouldn't that be darn exciting? So, Madeline it is:

It is our bones, our structure, which frees us to dance, to make love. Without our structure we would be an imprisoned, amorphous blob of flesh, incapable of response. The amoeba has a minimum of structure, but I doubt if it has much fun.

That Madeline was a wise woman.

Oh yeah, I have to tag 5 people! hmmm...
Brook (paybacks dude)
Ramon
Ronnie
Myles
Kevin

(I tag girls on everything... it's definately the guys turn!)

"I was covered in chaff, my forearms tattooed red with its pinpricks. The others - Joel Salatin, whose farm this was; his grown son, Daniel, and two helpers - had gone off to the barn for something, leaving me with a welcome moment in the pasture to gather myself before we cranked up the baler again. We were racing to get this hay in before thunderstorms predicted for the evening."
